Privacy Policy

What information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Plain language, no surprises buried in the fine print.

Last updated June 25, 2026

SeriousIT (“SeriousIT,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) delivers managed IT, co-managed IT, cybersecurity, business fiber, structured cabling, surveillance and access control, and business phone service to Utah businesses. We respect your privacy and only collect what we need to run our services and support you well. This policy explains how that works.

Who this covers

This Privacy Policy applies to our website at seriousit.com, our customer portal, our billing, and the services we manage for you (together, the “Services”). It applies to visitors, prospective customers, and customers alike.

Information we collect

Information you give us

When you request a quote, request a free audit, open a support ticket, contact us, or sign up for service, we collect what you provide: your name, business name, email address, phone number, and anything you include in your message. If you become a customer, we also collect the account and billing details we need to provide and invoice the Services.

Information we collect automatically

When you visit our website, we automatically receive standard technical data: your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the pages you view, and how you interact with them. We use cookies and similar technologies to collect some of this — see Cookies & analytics.

Information on systems we manage

To deliver managed IT, security, and infrastructure services, we may access and process information on the systems and networks we administer for you — for example device and network telemetry, security logs, and configuration data. That work is governed by the services agreement between SeriousIT and your organization, and we handle that information solely to provide and secure the Services you’ve hired us for.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and support the Services;
  • Set up and manage your account and process billing and payments;
  • Respond to your quotes, audits, support tickets, and questions;
  • Send service and account messages, such as maintenance notices and security or billing alerts;
  • Send product news and offers where permitted — you can opt out at any time;
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
  • Understand how the Services are used so we can improve them; and
  • Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the past 12 months.

We share information only in these limited cases:

  • Service providers. Companies that help us run the business under contract — such as our CRM and helpdesk, hosting, email delivery, and payment processors. They may only use your information to perform services for us.
  • Payment processing. Card payments are handled by our PCI‑DSS‑compliant processors, Stripe and Stax. We do not store full card numbers on our own systems.
  • Legal and safety. When required by law or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SeriousIT, our customers, or the public.
  • Business transfers. If SeriousIT is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in control of your data.

Cookies & analytics

We use a small number of essential cookies to remember preferences such as your light or dark theme. We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it; Google Analytics sets cookies and processes usage data under Google’s privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described here — to provide the Services, maintain your account, meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When we no longer need it, we delete or de-identify it.

Data security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security — but we work to protect your data and to address incidents promptly.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of these rights: to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to opt out of marketing. To exercise any of them, contact us using the details below. We won’t discriminate against you for exercising your rights, and we may need to verify your identity first.

California (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request access or deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. The categories we collect are identifiers (such as name, email, phone number, and IP address), commercial information (such as services purchased), and internet activity (such as site usage). We collect these directly from you and automatically as you use the Services. We do not sell or share your personal information, and have not in the preceding 12 months. You may exercise your rights using the contact details below, and an authorized agent may act on your behalf.

Europe & UK (GDPR)

If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we process your personal data to perform our contract with you, with your consent, for our legitimate interests in running and improving our business, and to comply with legal obligations. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children’s privacy

Our Services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is no common industry standard for how to respond to it, our website does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.

Links to other sites

Our website may link to sites we don’t operate. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies.

International visitors

We operate in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., your information will be processed in the U.S., where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date, and we will give more prominent notice of material changes where appropriate.
